5G network deployments are accelerating. Ericsson, a leader in telecommunications network technology, remains committed to offering operators globally new 5G platforms . This new software and hardware offering provides operators with options for building 5G networks. These new solutions will offer improved throughput and broader coverage, simplifying network technology transitions and facilitating easier adoption for consumers and industries.
Ericsson is also developing cloud solutions that enhance service delivery to meet user needs, enabling service providers to offer consumers and operators new 5G services, including augmented reality (AR) and data transmission with low cost and latency, while maintaining high accuracy and precision.
Most operators will begin their network transition to 5G using a hybrid approach, deploying 4G on existing access points and transitioning to full 5G once the 5G network is ready for rollout.
Today, low-band spectrum is the primary source of 5G network rollouts and can be very cost-effective. Ericsson also introduced new software called Inter-band NR Carrier Aggregation that extends the reach and volume of mid- and high-band frequencies where aggregation is required, boosting connectivity speeds inside buildings and in remote areas. Ericsson has also developed and added two new solutions to its wireless portfolio to help operators build 5G networks with greater precision.
